The Light of God

Isaiah 45:3 

“I will give you the treasures of darkness

And hidden wealth of secret places,

So that you may know that it is I,

The LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.

Key words: hidden, treasures, darkness and secret place.

How can a person find the treasure hidden in darkness in a secret place?

First, the knowing of the hidden treasure will cause him to find out more.

Second, he must has the light to shine in the darkness.

Third, he knows the secret place.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.  

His light is not only leading us to the right path, it is also leading us to find the hidden treasure in dark secret place.

Mat 5:14

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;

We will never be the light unless we are connected to the source of light, which is the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 1:1-5

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 

² He was in the beginning with God. 

³ All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 

⁴ In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 

⁵ The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Vs 1 : Word was God

Vs 4 : God is life; Life is light

Word, life & light are all refer to HIM

Isaiah 35:1

The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom;
Like the crocus

The flower will only blossom under sunlight. It is a sign before trees bear fruits.

It symbolizes our lives will only bear fruits when we are shine by the light, which is the word of God.

Gen 2:9

And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground— trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

               

1.    1. It is a symbol of disobedience to God.

Gen 2:17

but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.

2.    2. It is a symbol of man’s desire to become intelligent, wise and like God.

Gen 3:5-6

⁵ For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

⁶ When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

3.  3. It is a symbol of fall of man in the garden of Eden and sins first entered into man’s heart.

Gen 3:7

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realised that they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

4. 4. It is a symbol to represent shutting down from the wisdom of God and total separation from the presence of God.

God's Perfect Timing

Psalm 75:2

“When I select an appointed time, It is I who judge with equity.

我 到 了 所 定 的 日 期 ， 必 按 正 直 施 行 审 判 。

God acts at sequence beyond our understanding. Kids have difficulty to understand adults' time schedule because they only comprehend the present. A lot of time they say "I want it now." As limited human beings, it is challenging for us to understand the prospective about time. In a lot of occasions, we want things to be done immediately, unaware that God has a better timing. When God is ready, he will do what needs to be done, not what we would like Him to do.

We may be as impatient as children but we must not doubt the wisdom of God's timing. Wait for God to reveal His plan. Respect His pace and don't take matters into your own hands.
