TEMPLE

1.1 PREPARATION OF DAVID
1 Chronicles 22:14-16

14 Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stonealso, and you may add to them.
15 Moreover there are
workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skilful men for every kind of work.
16 Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the Lord be with you.”

REMARKS : Riches and abundance of materials used

1.2 BUILT AND COMPLETION BY SOLOMON
1 King 6:14-18
14 So Solomon
built the temple and completed it.
15 He lined its interior walls with cedar boards, panelling them from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and covered the floor of the temple with planks of juniper.
16 He partitioned off twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.
17 The main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.
18 The inside of the temple was cedar, carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; no stone was to be seen.
REMARKS : Wisdom and knowledge of the detailed architecture

2. DESTROYED BY NEBUCHADNEZZAR
2 King 25: 8-10

And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month (which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
He
burned the house of the Lord and the king’s house; all the houses of Jerusalem, that is, all the houses of the great, he burned with fire
10 And all the army of the Chaldeans who were with the captain of the guard
broke down the walls of Jerusalem all around.
REMARKS : Damages caused by root of sins. Enemies broke in.

3. REBUILT BY EZRA AND NEHEMIAH
Ezra 3:10-13
10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the Lord, as prescribed by David king of Israel.
11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: “He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever. ”
And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
12 But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple, wept aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.
13 No one could distinguish the sound of the shouts of joy from the sound of weeping, because the people made so much noise. And the sound was heard far away.
REMARKS : Rebuilding take place after salvation of Jesus.

4. TOOLS AND WEAPONS
Neh 4:17
Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with
one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.
REMARKS : Continue to be equipped in HIS body and defended against the enemies.

5. RESTORATION OF THE TEMPLE TO IT’S ORIGINAL GLORY
Ezekiel 43:1-5

Then the man brought me to the gate facing east,
and I saw the
glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters, and the land was radiant with his glory.
The vision I saw was like the vision I had seen when he came to destroy the city and like the visions I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown.
The glory of the Lord entered the temple through the gate facing east.
Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and
the glory of the Lord filled the temple.
REMARKS : HE is restoring the temple

6. WE ARE THE TEMPLE
1 Cor 3:16
Do you not know that
you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
REMARKS : HE is restoring us
