Wok with Kiat - 58 Beef (五八牛肉)


Buy the Australian beef.
It is more expensive but taste better.
I don't know why??



Remove the fat.


Cut in perpendicular with the beef texture line.




Cut into 1 inch length each with around 1/3 inch thickness. 


Maranate ingredients:
Star anise (八角), 5 season powder, black sauce, huadiao wine (花雕酒, get it from Speed99)& ginger.

Halfv a small bow of huadiao wine.

Marinate for 2 nights to ensure the taste enter into the meat.

Stir fry ingredients:
Garlic + Ginger + Small red onion 

One small red onion cut into tiny pieces.


First, fry the garlic till good smell is out and yellowish in color.


Second, add in the small red onion and ginger.
Fry till brownish color.


Add in the marinated beef. Fry (大火炒) it with highest available heat for 5 mins.

Lastly, add in carrot (in small pieces).
Use the lightest fire (小火焖) to cook for 15 mins.

Delicious 58 Beef
五八牛肉 (五香八角牛肉)
