a.
Exodus 11:2… Speak
now in the hearing of the people
that each man ask from his
neighbor and each woman from her neighbor for articles of silver and articles
of gold..….
·
The richness of
Egypt was the result of abused labour on the Israelites for more than 400
years.
·
God granted the
Israelites the right to take back the wages which were owed to them.
·
The silver and gold
articles will be molten and to be made items in the tabernacle for worshiping
purposes.
·
The centre focus of
all our earthly labour is to return and direct back to the original worship to
the Creator of Universe.
·
Even the enemy had to submit and surrender to this original and divine purpose of worship.
·
The abused labour executed
to the Israelites was not in vain. God turned it around (redeemed it) to become
the actual worship to the LORD.
·
Labour (Work) -> Silver &
Gold (Wages) -> Articles in
the tabernacle (Worship)
b. Exodus 11:3…. The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of
the Egyptians. Furthermore, the man Moses himself was greatly
esteemed in the land of Egypt, both in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and
in the sight of the people.
·
The 9 miracles
performed earlier revealed the special position of the Israelites as God chosen
nation and Moses was the leader of this nation.
c.
Exodus 11:7… But against any of the sons of
Israel a dog will not even bark, whether against man or beast,
that you may understand how the Lord makes a distinction between
Egypt and Israel.’
·
There was an obvious
distinction between God’s people and others during this plaque.

a.
How do you classify
your work? Is it secular or sacred?
b.
Have you ever
thought that work is a form of worship?
c.
God even redeemed the
labour of slavery to a form of holy worship.
